About 911 PDF Print E-mail

When you call 911 in Washington County dispatchers are automatically provided ANI/ALI on the console screen. This information includes the address, phone number, and resident's name. This is crucial in the event a person is unable to speak. It is important for the caller to remember that just because we receive the information does not mean that it is 100% correct 100% of the time. This is the reason the dispatcher will still inquire the address, phone number and the caller’s name.

When a 911 call is made from a wireless telephone we are given the location of the caller in latitude and longitude. This feature is known as being PHASE II compatible. We then interface the coordinates through our Mapping system to pinpoint the caller's location.
